Apple launched the all-new iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones during its debut event at the Steve Jobs theatre in Apple Park. While the Apple iPhone X will be available starting November 3rd, the iPhone 8 and iPhones 8 Plus are already on sale in few markets. In India, both the iPhone 8 devices will go on sale later today. Now, there are few reports about the alleged explosion of the iPhone 8 Plus. As of now, there is no official confirmation from the company. Though the reports suggest it to be an explosion, the battery of the iPhone 8 Plus in this incident is actually inflated.
The incident took place earlier this week in Taiwan after a woman named Wu purchased the 64GB variant of the iPhone 8 Plus on 23 September. When the iPhone 8 Plus was put on charge, the battery is said to be inflated in just three minutes. From the images, we can see the display separated from the device. She also confirmed that the original Apple charger was used for charging the new iPhone 8 Plus. As of the now, the device is with the service center and the actual cause of this incident is not yet known.
In a completely different incident, a Twitter user from Japan has brought a new iPhone 8 Plus. Surprisingly, the device came out of the box with an inflated battery. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, there are no damages reported due to the battery issues the iPhone 8 Plus. We might see more incident once the pre-ordered devices are shipped to the customers. While there is no confirmation, the battery supplier for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is mentioned to be the same company that also supplied for the Galaxy Note 7 devices.
