Adidas miCoach Smart Run Smartwatch Launched in India at Rs 24999

Adidas, a Germany-based sportswear manufacturer, has entered into the smartwatch market in India with its first miCoach Smart Run device, priced at an incredibly hefty INR 24,999. The device will allow users to monitor heart rate as well as play music.
The new smartwatch from Adidas will be exclusively available on company’s website. It will use optical technology to track heart rate from wrist. The device features an in-built accelerometer counting every step to help monitor stride rate, as well as track speed and distance via GPS. You will be able to see easily how many steps, distance or Average BPM (Beat Per Minute) you have logged in over a period.
The miCoach Smart Run sports a 1.45-inch color touch screen display and can play music via Bluetooth. It also delivers audible coaching guidance to solve problems of failing headphone cables and music players. It packs a 410mAh battery, larger than some of the Android Wear smartwatches, which can give music playback on marathon mode, up to 8 hours. The strap is soft touch silicon; the bezels are made of Stainless steel, while the magnesium material was used for backplate.
Company already offers their miCoach app for all the leading mobile platforms, as the new wearable device will be using the same app to sync up the data with your smartphones. Now that sportswear companies like Adidas itself are willing to enter into smartwatch market, therefore, it looks-like we will see a lot more wearables from the sportswear brands.
With organizations like Samsung, Motorola, LG and Apple coming up with their dedicated smartwatch under a considerable price point, it is hard to lure customers if these new smartwatches by companies are not extendible like Android Wear Smartwatches.
Though, there are still quite a good number of people that would be interested in this kind of dedicated sportswear smartwatches. But if these watches will be priced under affordable amount, then, they will attract more consumers as it is very crucial point of interest in the wearables market.
