Acer & OnePlus Confirmed to Use HTC Sense 8.0 UI on their Upcoming Devices

HTC will be launching its latest flagship smartphone HTC 10 on April 12th in London, New York, and Taipei. We have already talked about the design and specifications of the device based on leaked details. One of the important features is the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based HTC’s customized Sense 8.0 UI. At the MWC 2015, HTC has announced the One M9 running on Sense 7.0 UI.
In December 2015, the company launched One A9 running on Sense 7.0G based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which was recently upgraded to 6.1 Marshmallow. Now with the upcoming HTC is said to improve the productivity of the device by optimizing the Sense 8.0 UI. Today, the reliable HTC leakster Llabtoofer has tweeted that HTC will be licensing the Sense 8.0 UI to other smartphone manufacturers.
HTC will license Sense 8.0 to 3rd party manufacturers, first confirmed manufacturers are Acer and OnePlus.

He also said that Acer and OnePlus have already confirmed to use the Sense 8.0 UI on their devices. While we won’t see top brands to use the Sense UI, it will be helpful for affordable smartphone makers from China and India who don’t focus much on software experiences. OnePlus which had launched its first smartphone OnePlus One with Cyanogen OS came up with its own by the time of launching OnePlus 2.
Earlier there are few rumors suggesting the OnePlus to choose OPPO’s ColorOS for the Chinese variants of their upcoming devices. Apart from 3rd party licensing, some of the earlier launched HTC devices will be receiving the Sense 8.0 update starting from Q3 2016. While we think this is a good move from HTC since its market share has been declined drastically in the last couple of years.
Note: Apart from the above mentioned tweet, there is no other source for this news. Since it came on fools day, we had a little concern over the credibility of the news.
