A 5-second Video is capable of crashing your iPhone



Well, it is now not a new thing for Apple’s iOS software to come under scrutiny being one of the biggest multinational technology company. A new five-second video has been discovered that will force an iPhone to freeze and lockup which has been discovered by the users of Reddit. By clicking on this bug which is an MP4 file and the problem on the device starts.

The Verge has tested the bug on multiple iPhones which were running on the latest iOS 10.1 update and also in beta copies on iOS 10.2 OS. These phones got locked after playing the video which was delivered via iMessage. After clicking on file, iOS 10 will play this in the default player. This corrupted video will be generating a loop that will be causing the iPhone to crash after 10 seconds.

The device is malfunctioning when the video is sent as a link, and nothing has happened when the file has been transferred. This is not the first time that a big has crashed the iOS devices and even last year a few string of messages disabled the Apple’s iMessage app which was addressed by the company with iOS 8.4.

How to recover from the crash?

To recover your iOS devices from this crash caused by the bug, the user needs to hold on to the power button and the home button at the same time for a couple of seconds to perform a hard reset. The device will work normally once the handset is rebooted.

For now be aware of this malicious video that is getting circulated. Any of your naughty friends might try to prank you with this.
