Zopo, the Chinese mobile maker, officially confirmed on their website that major software upgrade in the form of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its current Speed Series handsets is available. The list of the device includes Speed 7, Speed 7 Plus and Speed 7 GP. Note that this update needs to be done manually, instead of the regular OTA we see that is rolled out by the company.

The brand didn’t say why they are not rolling out an update via OTA, which is quite easier for most users. Since not many users know how to flash their handsets. But don’t worry, the company has also made sure that the transition to new OS is smooth by releasing a guide on how you can flash the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the listed Zopo Speed series handsets.

ZOPO Mobile, the company, established in 2008, announced the world’s first Helios X20 powered handset at MWC Barcelona earlier in February this year. The Speed 8, which comes with latest MediaTek is company’s flagship chipset, which comes to almost stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The update that is available for download for older Speed Series handsets might be similar.

In the statement, the company has also confirmed that its Color Series handsets would receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon, as well as the Speed 7C, which is the downgraded version of the Speed 7, launched couple months ago. So, the Zopo users can best and latest software, as quoted by the brand on their official website.
