Yu Telecentres is the subsidiary brand of Micromax; it had recently launched a new smartphone called as Yu Yureka S (Yu 5200) with decent specifications and is priced at Rs. 12,999. Now, this brand has come up with the another smartphone with entry-level specifications named as Yu Yunique Plus and is now listed on their company’s website with the price tag of 6,999 INR. It is the upgraded version of Yu Yunique smartphone that was launched back in September 2015 and priced at Rs. 4,999.
The Yu Yunique Plus smartphone has an exactly similar design of the Yunique smartphone and comes with a sleek & elegant with 8.3mm Polycarbonate shell with symmetrical design and Saturn rings. It features a 4.7-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolutions and offers a 312 PPI of pixel density. There is a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for minor drops and scratches. It is the 5 times better than ordinary glass. The device comes packed with the 64-bit quad-core processor that clocks at 1.2 GHz, which has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC and accompanied by Adreno 306 Graphics.
The device runs on the outdated Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box or Cyanogen OS 12.1 and supports dual SIM dual standby which offers 4G LTE. The other connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.0, Micro USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS / GPS and FM Radio. The Yunique Plus smartphone comes powered by a removable 2000 mAh capacity battery that is rated to deliver up to 7 hours of talk time on 3G, gives a music playback up to 12.5 hours, provides a video playback up to 6 hours and lasts a standby time up to 345 hours.
The device has an 8GB of internal storage which can further be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot and coupled with 2GB of RAM while on Yunique smartphone is limited to 1GB of RAM. Coming to camera department, there is an 8-megapixel autofocus primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash that can record videos in Full HD (1080p) at 30 frames per second. On the front, it packs a 2-megapixel secondary camera with 83-degrees wide angle lens for selfies and video chats.
This smartphone is measured by 134.5 x 67.5 x 8.3 mm in dimensions and is weighing around 128 grams. At this price range, the Yu Yunique Plus smartphone will give a tough competition to the other devices like Huawei Honor Holly and Motorola Moto E smartphones that were launched with the same price tag. According to specs, it will be competing with the Samsung Galaxy J5 smartphone that was launched with the price tag of 11,999 INR.
