As announced earlier, YU Televentures launched its fourth smartphone ‘YU Yunique.’ The design of the device looks almost similar to the Yuphoria but comes with some cut-down specs. It will be available exclusively through Snapdeal.com while the earlier launched smartphones from YU are exclusively sold through for Amazon India.
It has a 4.7-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display along with a Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. The device comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.
While the Yuphoria has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, the Yunique came with half of what the Yuphoria offered. It has an 8MP rear camera along with a f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash, it also has a 2MP front camera with 83-degree wide angle lens.
The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity. It runs on Stock Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and if you love to use Cyanogen OS, then you change it to Cyanogen OS 12.1 via FOTA update. A 2,000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery is estimated to give 7 hours of talk time and lasts up to 271 hours of standby. Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. It measures 134.5 x 67.5 x 8.3 mm and weighs 128 grams.
The device is available to register for sale on Snapdeal.com and the first sale will be held on Sep 15th. The device will be available in Black colour and the company offers two additional back covers in the colors Serene White and Moonstone Grey for another Rs.500 which makes the total cost of the device to Rs.5,499 (optional). The device will be officially unveiled at the event that is going to be held today evening in New Delhi. There are rumors that the company will also launch the another smartphone powered by Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM.
