The Yu Yunicorn Smartphone that recently went on sale has received the first Firmware update that primarily focusses on the Camera Enhancement. There were many issues with the camera that we had reported in our Yunicorn Review, that should probably be fixed by now. If you own the Phone, you should head over to the Settings > About area to check if there is an update or not.
The size of this update is just 52.67MB, while the release note or the change log mentions the following:
1. Camera pro update: Enhanced camera performance
2. Apps enhancements with addition of Health, Steroid launcher with new User.
Earlier May 18, 2016: Yu Televentures, a new brand that was founded by Micromax Co-founder Rahul Sharma is going to announce their next Smartphone in India called as Yunicorn. Rahul Sharma had earlier teased a trailer around this upcoming device, but now we have a confirmation of the launch event that’s happening in India on May 31st. Just yesterday, Lenovo launched the Moto G4 & Moto G4 Plus smartphone in India.
We had already seen many other Smartphones under this series like the Yutopia, Yureka & Yunique. In fact, if you remember these phones were launched exclusively under the tie-up with Cyanogenmod, the partnership that’s no more exclusive. According to a few leaks and pointers, we are guessing that this phone would be below a Rs 15,000 price range & would be probably running on Stock Android. Micromax & Yu have been working parallelly, where Rahul’s interest is completely on the Yu products, where they had also launched a few health related products like a fitness band, that did not receive a lot of positive feedback.
We have been invited to the launch of this phone, that will be happening in New Delhi & we will keep you posted on what’s coming from Yu Televentures. Let us know if you have any other guesses around this new phone.
