Xiaomi Redmi 3S with Snapdragon 430 SoC & 4100mAh Battery Launched

After several leaks and rumors, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 3S which looks same as the Redmi 3 Pro. As seen with the Redmi 3 and Redmi 3 Pro, the Redmi 3S also sports the metal body even at such a low price. There is no textured finished as seen on the Redmi 3 and also includes a fingerprint sensor on the rear. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MIUI 7 and will be later upgraded to Marshmallow based MIUI 8.

It features a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the is the Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz instead of the Snapdragon 616 SoC as seen other Redmi 3 devices. The device comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants with 16GB and 32GB of internal storage respectively. It comes with dual SIM dual stand support with the help of hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for MicroSD card instead of second SIM.

Coming to the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture that can focus on just 0.1 seconds. For selfies, the Redmi 3S is equipped with a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture that can record videos at 1080p resolution. It includes a 4,100mAh non-removable battery that can easily last more than a day of usage. The Redmi 3 also came with the same 4,100mAh battery, while the Redmi Note 3 features slightly smaller 4,000mAh battery.

The device measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs 144 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 82.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The Redmi 3S with 2GB RAM is priced at 699 Yuan while the 3GB RAM variant costs 899 Yuan. Earlier launched Redmi 3 Pro with fingerprint sensor is also priced same as Redmi 3S. The device will be available in Gray, Silver, and Gold color options and sale starts from June 16th in China.
