We have already reviewed the Mi 4 completely and also shared tips and tricks for our users. In fact, there is no such smartphone which doesn’t show any issue. So, same is the case with Mi 4 device. Few users reported about the issues they have seen in this phone, and we did few workouts on the same and found solutions for them. Most of the issues are very common on every Android device, so go through the below solutions and resolve your issue.

1. Over–heating issue

Problem – Many Mi 4 phone users reported about the over-heating issue, and we can say that this is one of the most common issues in all the smartphones. So, you can avoid this use by performing several tasks on the phone.

Solution – Mostly, the phone gets over-heated while charging, playing games and during calls. So, by taking few precautions users can easily avoid this issue. Whenever the device is plugged-in for charging, do not use the phone. And remove the case of the phone while charging and playing games.

Uninstall high-resolution games from the device as they can cause the over-heating issue. Also, update your device with the latest software as the updates contain fixes for minor issues on the phone. Never perform the multi-tasking (opening several apps at a time) on the phone as it pressurize the processor and cause an over-heat issue.

2. Lag in Performance

Problem – Most of the users reported that after using the device for few months there is a lag in the phone. Well, this is another common issue among all the Android phones. We found few tips to resolve this issue and so go through the below solution to find it.

Solution – Lag issue can be reduced using various methods. First of all, let’s reduce the lag by enabling the developer options. To enable those options, open ‘Settings>About Phone’ and tap few times on ‘MIUI version’. Now, you can find these options under ‘Settings>Additional Settings.’ Open them and scroll down to find ‘Window animation scale,’ ‘Transition animation scale’ and ‘Animator duration scale.’ All these options were pointed to 1x, so turn those off or reduce the point to 0.5x so as to improve the performance of the device.

Further, remove app cache and wipe cache partition so as to resolve the issue of lag. For that, open each from your ‘installed apps’ option and tap on ‘Clear Cache’ option. Next for wipe cache partition, you need to get the phone into recovery mode. To do so, turn off the device and press Volume Up and power button simultaneously at the same time for few seconds until you see Mi Logo. Then release the power button and keep holding the volume up button until recovery mode menu appears. Now, select ‘English’ option using volume button and confirm the selection using the power button. Next, select and confirm ‘Wipe Reset’ option and then go for ‘Wipe Cache’ option. Once the process is done, go for ‘Reboot’ option. That’s all; by now you should have resolved the issue of lag and if not perform the factory reset.

To perform the factory reset, get the phone into recovery mode as explained above. But, do remember that, this process will erase entire data and so take a prior back up before proceeding further. Now, in recovery mode, after selecting ‘wipe reset’ option go for ‘Wipe All Data’ and then ‘Yes.’ The factory reset can also be performed by opening ‘Settings>Backup & Reset>Factory Data Reset>Reset Device>Erase Everything>Ok’. That’s all; now your device should free from the lag issue.

3. Poor battery life

Problem – Even though the device comes with Li-Ion 3080 mAh battery, many users reported about battery draining issue. Well, to resolve the issue we made few tips which can help you to improve the battery life.

Solution – First of all make sure that there are no battery-draining apps on the device and if they exist then uninstall them. Also, get rid of bloatware and unnecessary apps by uninstalling them as pre-installed apps too consume the battery-life.

Always use original battery chargers for charging the device as duplicate chargers will drain the battery faster. Avoid using widgets and live wallpapers as they consume more amount of the battery life. Do remember to turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, data and GPS options so as to improve the battery life. Never charge the device via laptop or PC as you cannot get the real-use of the battery.

4. Freezing issue

Problem – Few users reported that sometimes the device is getting freeze suddenly, and it is taking more time to come back to normal. So, we made few workouts with this issue and found the solution for it.

Solution – Whenever the phone freezes, do not get panic. Try to restart the device and if the problem persists then you need to perform wipe cache partition as explained in the solution 2. If still the issue exists, then follow the procedure in the solution 2 and perform the factory reset of the device. By now, the freezing issue should get resolved.

5. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Data connections error

Problem – There seems to be a problem with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections for few Mi 4 users. Also, few users wrote that data connection is also causing an issue. Well, follow the below solution to resolve the issue.

Solution – For Wi-Fi, make sure that you are connecting to the desired network and try connecting to it after restarting the device. If the issue persists, then restart the router and reconnect to the network. For Bluetooth issue, try to remove all the paired devices from your phone and start pairing to the device now. Sometimes, there is an issue with data connection too. So, at those times, you have to restart the device. By doing this, these connection issues will get resolved.

Note – Do remember that, by updating the device with the latest software, users can experience the bug-free performance on the device. So, always stay updated and check for latest updates under ‘Settings>About Phone>System Updates’ or by clicking ‘Updater’ app under ‘Tools’ folder.
