UMI has recently launched a new smartphone Iron that comes powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It comes with 3GB RAM and 16GB as its internal storage. If you have purchased this device then here are few tips and tricks that can help you in understanding your device.

How to insert the SIM card on your device?

The SIM card slot is present on the top right of the device. To insert the SIM on your Iron, Switch OFF the device place the pointed end of the Pin ejector in the hole and press it. The tray pop’s out, now remove the tray from the slot and place the SIM card in the SIM slot. The tray is a combination of SIM card slot and Memory card slot.The micro SD card can also be used as SIM slot if you want to insert two SIM card on your device. Now, Place the tray back into the slot and switch on your device.You have successfully inserted SIM on your device.

What is the type of SIM supported on this device?

The SIM card supported by the device is Nano-SIM card. It is a dual-SIM smartphone and supports dual standby.

How to share your Data network via Tethering on the device?

Sharing the data network on the device can be done using the tethering option available on your device. To share the data on your device, open the Settings, click on more in wireless & network. Now, tap on the tethering & portable hotspot and tap on Wi-Fi hotspot. Further, toggle the Off button on the screen to enable the option on your device. You can also setup the device name and password by tapping on Set up Wi-Fi hotspot.

How to take a Screenshot on my UMI Iron?

A screenshot can be captured by pressing the volume down button and power/lock key together. Once the screenshot is captured it is saved in the png format in your gallery. For a quick access of the image, you can open it from the notification panel after you capture the screenshot.

How to check for the Android Updates on the device?

To check for Android updates on your device, open the Settings, Scroll down to system and tap on About Phone. Now, click on System software updates. The device checks for updates, and if there is no update available then a message stating ‘Your system is currently up to date’ is displayed on the screen. You can also manually update the device if you have the update file in the SD card.

How to Install external apps with apk files on the device?

If you want to insert an external apk, you need to enable the Unknown sources option on your device. To enable this on your UMI Iron, Open the settings, Tap on security in the personal section. Now tap on the Unknown Sources option, a pop-up appears on screen, click on OK button to enable that on your device. You can install any apk file on your device but make sure that the apk that you are installing is genuine or else it may harm you device.

How to customize the Quick Settings in the Notification Panel?

Quick Settings in the notification panel of this device cannot be customized.

How to use the Power saving modes on the UMI Iron?

Power saving mode is used to enhance the battery life of your device. To enable this on your device, open the Settings, tap battery in the device section. Now tap on the three dotted button that is on the top right of the screen and click on Battery saver. Toggle the off button to enable the battery saver on your device. You can also use the turn on the automatically feature by selecting one of the options, i.e., at 5% battery or 15% battery.

What are the sensors available on the phone?

Direction, G-sensor, Acceleration, Light, E-Compass, Proximity, Gyro, Linear Acceleration, Rotation Vector are the sensors available on the device.

Are there LED notification lights on the device?

The device comes with LED notification lights. To enable this on your device, open the Settings, tap on display in the device section. Scroll down to the display section and click on Pulse notification light. The options available on the device are While charging, low battery, missed notifications and incoming calls. Tap on the option to enable them on your device. The missed notification further comes with three notifications, i.e., missed call, unread SMS and miscellaneous, toggle the off button to enable them on your device.

How to use the Screen pinning feature on the UMI Iron?

Screen pinning feature is available on the devices that come with Android Lollipop on it. To enable this on your device, open the Settings, tap on Security in the personal section. Now, scroll down to advanced and click on screen pinning. Further, Toggle the off button to enable that on your device. Now open the overview window and tap on the pin button that is on the bottom right of the screen and enable that on your screen. To get out from the pin, you need to tap and hold the back and overview button until the screen is unpinned.

What are the Pre-installed Apps on the device?

The device comes with browser, file manager, FM Radio, Sound recorder, Super Cleaner, SuperSU, U Health and Viper4 Android pre-installed.

Can I Move apps from phone storage to SD card on this device?

There is no such option where you can move apps from internal storage to an external Micro SD card.

What is U health and how to use this on your device?

The device comes with 16GB as its internal storage where 10.61 GB of space is available for user and rest of space is occupied by OS and pre-installed apps.

How much free RAM is available for the device if no apps are running?

The device comes with 3GB RAM, and system occupies 857MB of RAM, 174MB is occupied by Apps and 1.8GB of RAM is available when no apps are running the device.
