Samsung may include a new protection program with the Galaxy S8 called “Samsung Guard S8”

We are just a couple of days away from the official announcement of the Galaxy S8 & the S8 Plus smartphones, but these rumors and leaks simply can’t stop popping up. Earlier today, we saw that the smartphones would include new fingerprint scanner gestures for using the device and now according to the new reports which we have, it looks like the company will be including a new protection plan for its upcoming smartphones.

According to the source, Samsung is said to include a new protection program called the “Samsung Guard S8” with the upcoming S8 and the S8 Plus smartphones. Unlike other rumors and leaks, this is something which we have never heard before, and this is also something which seems to be making a lot of sense. The source claims that the program will be offered in select few countries where these new devices will be going on sale. However, the list of the countries etc. is not mentioned anywhere.

This new Samsung Guard S8 program will offer repairs for the phone in just two hours and not just that, it will also extend your original warranty period by another year. It is also said that the program will offer a one-time free replacement of the phone’s display along with some kind of a unique “remote support.” Also, we don’t have any clear info about the cost of this particular program as well. But it is highly possible that the company will add this to your cart for free of charge.

However, speaking of protection plans, the company already offers one called the Samsung Protection Plus, and it costs $99.99 or $129.99 depending on the smartphone you own, and it covers two years. This particular one offers two replacements for the phone under the plan in a 12 months period, etc. Hence it is to be seen of this alleged new Samsung Guard S8 is a replacement for this existing one or is it exclusively for the S8.

With that said, again all we can do right now is to stay put and wait for the official announcement of the Galaxy S8 on March 29th which is scheduled to happen in New York.
