The upcoming flagship smartphone from Samsung is going to come with an iris scanner that we have seen on the Note 7. The Galaxy S8 is also expected to feature the fingerprint scanner on the back unlike the traditional sensor on the home button. After the horrendous Galaxy Note 7 experience, the South Korean Giant would be looking to bring back its reputation that it has lost.
Samsung has always embedded its fingerprint sensor on the hardware button placed on the front, but according to the new reports, the successor of the Galaxy S7 will have the fingerprint sensor on the rear. We have already seen many devices coming with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which is more comfortable and easier to accesses.
The Korean publication has also reported that the home button the front is missing on the Galaxy S8 and the iris scanner will also be included on the handset. Earlier it was reported that Galaxy S8 would be coming with an optical fingerprint sensor, but we have to wait and see which reports are going to be true.
The Galaxy S7 Edge came with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display; it’s a Super AMOLED screen just like its smaller sibling, the S7. Its always-on display functionality would make it quite easier to see notifications when they arrive. There is a bigger 3600mAh battery, compared to 3000mAh on the S7. Under the hood, there is an Exynos 8890 or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with the support of 4GB of RAM. There are a 32GB and 64GB internal storage options that can be extended up to a maximum of 200GB via microSD card slot. The camera setup is similar to the Galaxy S7, 12MP Dual Pixel in the rear and a 5MP camera on the front.
