At the CES 2017, Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A3 2017, Galaxy A5 2017, Galaxy A7 2017 smartphones. While the earlier leaked suggested the company to soon upgrade the Galaxy J series by launching the Galaxy J3 2017, Galaxy J5 2017, Galaxy J7 2017 smartphones, there is no official information of these devices till date. However, now the press renders of the Galaxy J7 2017 (SM-J727) are leaked online. This same device will be launched in the U.S by Verizon and Tracfone as Galaxy J7 V and Galaxy J7 Sky Pro respectively. Earlier this month, we have reported about the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro & Galaxy J3 Luna Pro names that are trademarked in the U.S. Now, we expect the Galaxy J3 Luna Pro to be the Galaxy J3 2017.
The design of the Galaxy J7 2017 looks similar to the Galaxy J3 Emerge which was currently retailing at $235 in the U.S. It comes with removable plastic back cover just like its predecessor. Below the display, we can find two capacitive buttons each on either side of the physical home button. The power button is placed on the right edge while the volume rocker is on the left edge. The camera strip holding the rear camera and LED flash comes in a different shade that distinguishes itself from the back panel. Talking about the specifications, the benchmark listings revealed the device to feature a 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.
It is expected to come in two variants powered by the Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor and the in-house Exynos 7870 processor. The Galaxy J7 2017 includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There will be an expandable storage option for further expansion of the storage on this device. However, it still runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box instead of the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. In the camera department, we can find an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. As of now, we don’t have clear information when these new devices will be officially launched. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
