Samsung has been launching the affordable range of smartphones under its ‘J’ series. They previously launched the J2 smartphone as well here in the country which got a good response in the market. Now on the same lines, the company has launched the new J3 Pro smartphone in India which is yet another budget offering from the company. Do make a note that this smartphone is not new as it was already available in China for a long time now. They are just making it available here in India.

Talking about the smartphone itself, the J3 Pro has a 5″ AMOLED display on the front, which is an HD display meaning it has a resolution of 1280 x 720. Internally, it is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor along with which we also get 2GB of RAM. The Chinese variant which was sold there had a 1.2 Ghz processor only, and this is comparatively better than that. The smartphone has 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card upto 128GB.

However, talking about the software inside this, it is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop which is very disappointing to see since we are already about two generations ahead of that. Coming to the camera side of things, we have an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED Flash, and on the front, there is a 5MP front-facing selfie shooter. The whole package is kept powered by a 2,600mAh battery which should be good enough to keep it running for about a day.

Just like the other J series smartphones, the J3 Pro which will be sold here in India will come with ‘Make for India’ features such as Ultra Data Saving (UDS) mode and S bike mode. Ultra data saving mode as the name suggests will help you save more data whereas, the S Bike mode which you can enable while riding your bike. This entry level smartphone with a plastic body design will be available to purchase from Paytm mall starting tomorrow for Rs 8,490. The smartphone will be available in three different color options such as old, black, and white.

Having said that, be sure to let us know what do you think about this smartphone.
