Panasonic Eluga Prim Smartphone with 3GB RAM Launched in India at Rs. 10,290

Panasonic has launched its latest mid-range smartphone dubbed as the Panasonic Eluga Prim in India. With the circular home button and rounded corners, the front of the device looks similar to latest iPhones. The device is priced at Rs. 19,290 and comes with an all metal body and a 2.5D glass on the front. Even with stiff competition from the Chinese smartphone brands, the Eluga Prim packs some decent hardware at this price point. The brand is also selling this smartphone through offline stores which gives a wider reach to the Eluga Prim than the online exclusive devices. Commenting on the launch, Pankaj Rana, Business Head of Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said,

“The Eluga Prim is a great example of the combination of style and security. We at Panasonic believe in not only great software and hardware but also quality and sturdy design of our phones. Fingerprint scanning has emerged as the most popular biometric technology to keep your data secure. The fast fingerprint scanner will be able to recognize your fingers and thumbs in a split second and also will act as a home button. The sleek Eluga Prim strikes a neat balance between the two.”

As seen on the Eluga Note, the brush metal finish on the back gives a distinct look to the Eluga Prim. The Eluga Prim sports a 5-inch IPS On-cell display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and is protected by Asahi Dragontrail protective glass on top. It is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz. The device packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expandable additionally upto another 128GB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the customized FitHome UI on top.

The device also supports dual SIM dual standby but supports 4G only one SIM at any given time. Talking about the cameras, there is a 13MP sensor on the back with triple LED flash, 5P lens, and f/2.0 aperture. On the front is a 5MP sensor for capturing images and making video calls. Though it comes with on-screen buttons, the circular home button on the front also support gestures for doing different tasks like opening recent apps, back, and home. With the embedded fingerprint sensor into the home button, the Eluga Prim also becomes a bit more secure.

This Phone could be one of the most competitive products from Panasonic in the recent times with very good hardware offered at a sub-10k pricing. The 2,500mAh non-removable battery on the Eluga Prim might not last more than a day of usage. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It comes in Champagne Gold with White display panel and Gun Metal Silver color with Black display panel. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more updates!
