OnePlus 2 smartphone users might be lucky because they have been receiving the latest updates from OnePlus regularly. In the previous week, we had seen the release of Oxygen 2.2.1 version pushed OTA, and now OnePlus is soak testing the Android’s latest version Marshmallow 6.0.1 update on OnePlus 2 devices which updates the devices to Oxygen OS 3.0.

Soak testing will be done to observe and detect faults in the tested version so that they can rectify all the errors in further releases. As of now, few users who accepted to take the soak test have received this latest update on their devices, and they started downloading it. Here are a few screenshots of the most recent update which showcases minor enhancements of the device.
OnePlus 2 Marshmallow update
As per the images, we can see that the device is updated to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and Oxygen OS 3.0. The new wallpapers have been added along with the customizations to the home screen. A slider for the alerts has been included for alarms, reminders, events, etc. So, once the soak-test is completed, then OnePlus 2 users may expect the official release of the same for all the devices.

When compared to the other manufacturers, OnePlus is a bit behind in bringing Marshmallow updates for the devices. So, we can consider that the OnePlus 2 might be the first device from this brand to get the latest update. Once this device gets updated, we hope they follow the same with the other two devices i.e. the OnePlus One and OnePlus X.

We already have mentioned a few issues of OnePlus 2 phone in our detailed review and also shared few tips and tricks for the device. We are looking forward to few enhancements and fixes in the latest Marshmallow update after the soak test, but as of now we can conclude that the users who have taken the soak test are pretty lucky as they have managed to receive the pre-release update.
