OnePlus 2 Gets Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Based OxygenOS 3.0 Update – Download

OnePlus 2 users are finally getting what they have been waiting for a long time, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. For the past couple of weeks, the Chinese mobile company has been doing soak testing for its latest build of its OxygenOS 3.0. The good news, starting today you can download the Community Build of the latest ROM for your OnePlus 2 handset.

Do make a note that this is the Community Build, which means it’s not for everyone to download as it’s more like a Beta update. Once the update is done, OnePlus is looking for feedback on the Network depending on the carrier you use along with Performance and battery life check. Company claims that what they have made available is a daily driver material, so if you are worried about breaking your primary device with bugs, well, you shouldn’t. At least, that’s what company is saying.

As far as the changes are concerned, apart from the visual tweaks that Marshmallow will bring there are certain improvements and fixes that company has taken care of in their latest build. There is a new OnePlus Camera interface that you’ll notice, now swiping up and downs switches the photo and video modes, while the HD/HDR and flash settings present in the top right corner. What more is that you can change the aspect ratio and toggle grid view without opening the settings of camera app!

The company has also added a new wallpaper picker and has improved the Shelf UX. They also claim that general system performance is better as Benchmarked 47% faster than OxygenOS 2.2.1. Moreover, you should notice quicker fingerprint detection than what previous build offered. The native app permissions, alert slider gets its own entry point for more customization and improved settings menu for better readability. As well as March security patches are included in this latest build for OnePlus 2 users.
