Nubia Z11 Smartphone with 5.5″ Bezel-less AMOLED Display to Launch Soon in India

The Chinese smartphone brand, Nubia has recently launched the Nubia Z11 Mini in India for Rs. 12,999. Now the company is said to bring the premium Nubia Z11 smartphone to the Indian market. Nubia Z11 along with Nubia Z11 Mini and Nubia  Z11 Max are already on sale in China. At the IFA 2016 in Berlin, Nubia has internationally launched the Nubia Z11 smartphone. Earlier this year, the company also roped in the Portuguese football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo as their brand ambassador. Compared to the Nubia Z11 Mini, the upcoming Nubia Z11 will be featuring completely different design.

One important feature is the completely bezel-less AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Recently, Xiaomi has launched Mi MIX concept smartphone with an edgeless display featuring a very thin bezel on the sides. Though the Nubia Z11 has two sided bezel-less display, the display directly meets the metal frame of the device. This isn’t new from Nubia, even the last year’s Nubia Z9 smartphone also came with the similar design. The devices also come with FiT 2.0 (Frame Interactive Technology) gestures that work on the frame of the device

The user can swipe down or up on the left or right edge of the device for different gestures.  Under the hood, the Nubia Z11 is powered by the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. In China, the device came with 4GB and 6GB RAM options with 64GB and 128GB storage options, but in India, we expect the company to bring only the 4GB RAM variant. Talking about the camera, there is a 16MP primary camera with OIS, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. The 8MP front camera with an aperture of f/2.4 can capture decent selfies.

It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with in-house NeoPower fast charging support. It supports dual SIM dual standby with the help of hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for MicroSD card instead of second SIM. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It still runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop with highly customized Nubia UI laid on top. Though there will be no Nougat update in the near future, we expect it to receive at least the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.

While the recently launched Nubia Z11 Mini is priced very competitively, we think the 4GB RAM variant of the Nubia Z11 to cost around Rs. 30,000 making it out of reach for anyone looking for an affordable high-end smartphone. As of now, there is no information about the official launch date of the device. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more updates!
