M-Tech Informatics Limited, which had earlier launched the mobiles under the brand name M-Tech, has recently announced an entry-level smartphone called Jazbaa. More than the specifications, the device has been famous for naming it with a Bollywood movie called Jazbaa starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan Khan. While this kind of marketing campaigns isn’t new in the Indian smartphone market, it got better attention because of the movie cast along with decent specifications of the device.
Commenting on the launch, Vivek Agarwal, Co–Founder and MD of M-Tech Mobiles said, “After the Nation Wide success in the 2014-2015 with our Feature & Smartphones sales crossing 1 million units and generating revenue more than 100 Cr, we are extremely excited to launch our ‘Jazbaa Brand’ in Indian Market. We target to achieve the turnover of around 1000 Cr by March 2018 which will take us a step ahead in the Indian Mobile Market.”
It comes with a 5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display that is least expected at this price range. Under the hood is the MediaTek MTK6580 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM. The device supports dual SIM dual standby but misses the 4G LTE connectivity. It has 16GB of internal storage and can be further expanded upto 32GB via a MicroSD card slot.
On the camera front, it has 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and autofocus, and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. Connectivity options on this device include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. There is a battery of 2,000mAh that offers up to 12.5 hours of talk time and can last up to 300 hours on standby. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with pre-loaded themes and wallpapers from the Jazbaa movie.
The device measures just 8.5mm thick and weighs about 150 grams. It will be available in Black and Silver colors, and is priced at Rs.8,999.
