Meizu launched its first smartphone Meizu M3E under the new E-series in China. Apart from minor changes, the device looks similar to the recently launched Meizu MX6. After the Meizu M3, this is the second smartphone from Meizu in 2016 to come with YunOS. Along with smartphones, Alibaba’s YunOS also powers the smart automobiles, IoT, and others. The device comes with unibody Aluminum body with a 2.5D glass on the front.
It comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and coupled with 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via MicroSD card slot upto 128GB. The device runs on latest Flyme 5.2.1 UI based on YunOS 5.1.1. It supports dual SIM dual standby with the help of hybrid SIM slot and offers 4G LTE and VoLTE.
Coming to the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and PDAF that can focus in just 0.2 seconds. On the front is a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and FotoNation 2.o. The physical home button on the front comes integrated with the fingerprint sensor. It also supports mobile payment with Alibaba’s AliPay that too only in China.
The Meizu M3E is kept powered on by a 3,100mAh non-removable battery that can give more than a day of usage. Connectivity options include 4G LTYE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device measures 153.6 x 75.8 x 7.9 mm and weighs 172 grams. It will be available in Silver, Gray, Gold, Rose Gold, and Blue color options.
The device is priced at 1299 Yuan and will be on sale starting from August 14th. As of now, there is no information about the launch of this device in the international markets. It will be running on Android based Flyme OS in the international markets.
