Meizu M3e Star Trek Edition Smartphone Launched in China

After teasing a video about collaboration with Star Trek Movie Franchise, Meizu, the Chinese smartphone maker has today unveiled the smartphone and what all comes packed in the limited edition Meizu handset. The collaboration can be noticed right from the retail box packaging to the software inside the device. The device goes on sale tomorrow at 1499 Yuan, which approximately $225. It would be available on company’s online store, i.e. Meizu Mall.

The Meizu M3e is the name of the smartphone; it looks like a limited edition upgrade of Blue Charm Metal launched last year in October. On the back of the device, you can notice the Star Trek logo, which is the symbol of Star Fleet Academy. If you are a Star Trek fan, then you must know about these things.

The Smartphone comes in collaboration for the latest movie in the franchise, i.e. the Star Trek Beyond. It is the third instalment in the series. Giving the device a vast interstellar blue look, Meizu touts custom boot screen, themes and motives carved polished design with every detail of the Enterprise explorer starship in the movie.

Earlier: Smartphone manufacturers usually prefer collaborating with some over production house for some kind of a limited edition smartphones etc. Samsung has been doing it for quite some time now as we have seen with the Injustice edition etc. And now we have new reports claiming that Meizu might be on to something similar for their upcoming smartphone launch. Well, a recently released video of the upcoming movie named ‘Star Trek 3: Beyond’ indicates the same.

The video is nothing but some kind of a trailer for the movie, but interestingly it indicates some kind of a collaboration with Meizu. As you see from the image below, it reads ‘Meizu x Star Trek: Beyond’. So this is expected to be some kind of a collaboration of the company with an upcoming movie. The movie is going to release in China on September 2nd and what better timing could you ask for, to launch a smartphone in collaboration with the movie.

Well, we guess it is the Meizu M3 Max, which is an upcoming smartphone from the company. We also have some of the images of the actual device to back this report as well. So this is definitely some of kind of a collaboration of the Meizu with the upcoming movie.

This device looks exactly similar to what we have seen before from various other leaks of the device. So it is most likely the Meizu M3 Max. As far as the specs go, it is expected to feature the same exact rumoured specs which we have seen previously. It will be powered by Exynos 8890 octa-core SoC and may have 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Let’s see what we will get to see here on the given date.
