Lenovo has officially launched the Vibe Shot smartphone in India for Rs.25,499. The company has announced the device at the MWC held in March 2015. The device comes with a 16MP rear camera sensor that competes with other camera-centric devices like the recently launched Motorola Moto X Play and Asus Zenfone Selfie which are priced at Rs.18,499 and Rs.17,999 respectively. Internationally the Lenovo Vibe Shot was priced at $349 (approx Rs.23,000).
Along with a 16MP rear camera, there is also an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. It has a 5.0-inch device with Full HD (1920×1080) display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocking at 1.7 GHz, along with 3GB RAM. There is 32GB internal storage out of which only 25GB will be available to the end user, but not to worry it has a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
Let’s talk about the main feature – the camera. Lenovo has placed a 16-megapixel camera with infrared autofocus feature and optical image stabilization. This is also the first smartphone to feature triple tone flash. It has a 6-piece modular lens and full-frame 16:9 low-light sensor for low light steady photos. Lenovo has provided a physical shutter button for stabilized captures.
The Vibe Shot runs Android 5.1 Lollipop based Vibe UI and the company assured the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update but not mentioned any specific timeline. It has a 2,900mAh Li-polymer battery packed in, which can last upto 3 hours with just 15% of battery life by switching on the power saving mode.On the connectivity side, the phone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and Dual Nano SIM capability.
It will be available in the colors – Crimson Red and Graphite Grey. The pre-orders will be starting from today’s evening at the Lenovo’s official website and will be available across the country through offline stores within two weeks from now on.
