Latest Galaxy Note 7 Explosion Blows Up a Car in Florida

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units are having an issue where the devices are exploding while charging. The company released the official statement confirming the battery issue and also announced the replacement for all the 2.5 million handsets sold in the first two weeks of sale in few countries. Samsung also urged customers not use the Galaxy Note 7 until the units are replaced, but there are many users who are still using the device. In the last couple of weeks, we reported many cases of the exploding Galaxy Note 7’s and in one case, the Garage was completely burnt down.

While the replacement units are yet to be shipped, the company is said to release the software update where the battery capacity will be limited to 60%. Many Governments also banned the device from using/charging onboard the flights. Even after seeing all this news, many customers are still using the device. A new explosion was now reported from Florida, where the owner was travelling in a car with the Galaxy Note 7 that too while charging. Though there is no official confirmation from the company or the local authorities, the owner said the device was blown after making a loud pop.

Though the company is warning not use the Galaxy Note 7 at least while charging, but it looks like many users are not caring about the warnings. In another incident, the Jeep was completely burned with the explosion of Galaxy Note 7 while charging. Samsung might have the problem with the device, but now the users need to stop using the device. Either they can get the complete refund or wait for the replacement units to arrive. New safer Galaxy Note 7’s come with a blue S letter on the package.

In few markets, Samsung is also offering the Galaxy J smartphone as a loaner which can be replaced once the new Galaxy Note 7 arrives. Though the Galaxy Note 7 was well received, we aren’t expecting the device to compete against the recently launched iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus after this battery issue. If the rumours are to be believed, the Samsung will also launch the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge smartphones ahead of the MWC 2017.
