Intex, the Indian smartphone manufacturer, has launched a new smartphone ‘Intex Aqua Power II‘. Like the earlier launched Aqua Power series of smartphones, the Aqua Power II also comes with a massive 4,000mAh battery. Recently the Micromax has also launched two new smartphones Canvas Juice 3 and Juice 3+ with 4,000mAh batteries. With more and more usage, the battery life of smartphones is decreasing day by day.

Instead of optimizing the software, the manufacturers are coming up with bigger battery capacities on the smartphones. While the Canvas Juice was priced at Rs.9,000; the Intex Aqua Power II costs only Rs.6,490. The device runs on latest Android 5.1 Lollipop.

“The Aqua Power 2 is yet another development in the power-packed category of Intex Mobiles. We have customized our offerings and have loaded it on an Android Lollipop 5.1 OS for smoother functioning. This new offering is better, bolder and will compete to be a true stunner, leveraging the signature product category of Intex.” said Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies.

The device sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display and is powered by Spreadtrum SC7731 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage out of which only 4.75GB will be available to the end user. There is also a microSD card slot for storage expansion upto 32GB.

It supports dual SIM dual standby but lacks the 4G LTE connectivity. On the camera side, it has a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies. The 4,000mAh Li-polymer battery is expected to give 15 hours of talk time and lasts up to 500 hours on standby.

Like Canvas Juice 3 and Juice 3+, the Aqua Power II also comes with many pre-installed apps like Myntra, Quikr, Clean Mater, Intex Play, Intex Service, I Store, Chaatz, Skype, and NewsHunt. Connectivity on this device includes 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. It measures 146 x 74 x 10.3 mm thick and weighs 152 grams.

The device is available in the colors – White, Black, and Champagne and can be purchased through online and offline stores across India. Recently, the company has also launched its first female-centric smartphoneAqua Glam‘ with 8MP front and rear cameras. The device is priced at Rs.7,690 and comes in Pink and Champagne color with Swarovski crystals studded around the frame.
