If you are following the news for a while, then you might be aware that Twitter has announced its plans to shut down the once-popular video sharing platform Vine. This move was taken in an attempt to cut down its costs after performing not so well with the quarterly earnings. The news indeed came as a surprise to many since it has been one of the greatest video sharing platforms and amongst the first ones to be introduced.

Well, we now have some new reports stating that the co-founders of the vine have unveiled their new live video broadcasting app, named HYPE. It is expected that this new platform might act as a direct competitor to Facebook’s live videos. If you are wondering where to get this new app and what are the things to know about it, you can download the app right now from the App Store as it is only available for iOS right now. And do make a note that it is still in beta phase. And yes, all you Android fanboys out there, this will be making it’s way to Android platform as well.

And yes, it is going to be quite a challenge in bringing something this now amidst all the existing competition. If you want to stand out from the others, then you have to offer something new to users who will want them to make a switch. And yes, the founders of this app are well aware of that and hence you do get some unique features up its sleeves. First of all, HYPE allows users to add music as well as other animations to their videos. And that by itself is unique for a service of this kind.

This new app was introduced by Colin Kroll and Rus Yusupov on Thursday. Both of them held a live session on their upcoming app. They also talked about Vine and took few questions from users as well. Well, with all that being said, it will be quite interesting to see how this new app fairs well in the industry where users are already using similar apps. If you don’t know this new app, HYPE will compete against Twitter’s Periscope and Facebook’s Live video efforts.

And talking about the competition, it is indeed going to be very difficult to attract people to this new platform given the fact that Periscope and Facebook’s live videos are doing quite well already. More and more people have started using the live video feature on Facebook, thanks to the developers for making that feature so accessible and effortless to use. You can initiate a live video by simply tapping a button and showcasing what you have. But let’s not speculate anything as of now and see how it works out. Stay tuned for more info on this.
