Huawei sells 1 Million Mate 8 Smartphones in the Launch Month in China

Huawei has recently launched a flagship device i.e. the Mate 8 in the month of November. The device went on sale in China last month, i.e., on December 09 and had reported a huge sale the very first day as it is being sold by many retailers. As per the new information passed by the companies CEO, Yu Chengdong, Mate 8 had over a million units sale by the end of the last month in China. He also added that the brand would be soon entering the VR market and would be competing the leading VR manufacturers i.e. Samsung and HTC by launching a VR product from Huawei.

Huawei Mate 8 is a 6-inch Phablet comes powered by a Hisilicon Kirin 950 SoC octa-core processor clocked at 2.4 GHz and a Fingerprint sensor on its back panel. The device comes in two variants i.e., 3GB RAM with 32 GB of internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage. The device sports a 16 MP rear camera supporting FHD video recording at 30 frames per second and 8 MP front camera to capture selfies. It comes powered by a 4000 Li-ion non-removable battery and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 with Motion UI 4.0.

As the device supports all the features of a flagship smartphone, it is in huge demand and the company’s Smartphone Division Head, He Gang, said that they are planning to manufacture a million Mate 8 units per month to overcome the need in the market.

Yesterday, this smartphone was also launched in CES 2016 along with two other devices, i.e., Huawei GX8 and MediaPad M2 10.0 Tablet and making it available in Europe, Southeast China, South Africa and Mexico.

Huawei GX8 is a 5.5-inch smartphone comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Soc octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. It comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB as its internal storage and can be expanded up to 64 GB using an external Micro SD card. The device sports a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP selfie shooter. It is powered by a 3000 mAh Li-Po battery and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1. The device will be available on the Amazon store online and would also be available on GetHuawei Stores offline.
