The Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Huawei launched the new Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Porsche design a few days back. Both of them offer more or less the same set of specs, however, there are minor differences here and there; that might affect your decision of buying. With that being said, today the company has announced these two smartphones in China along with another variant of the Mate 9 called the Mate 9 Pro. While we expected the Mate 9 Pro earlier itself, but the company decided to launch them in China only. We do have the complete set of specs and features of these three smartphones, so let’s see which one should you be picking up.
Talking about the regular Mate 9 variant, it comes with a massive 5.9″ display on the front which is limited to FHD resolution, unfortunately. While this is shocking to see no see QuadHD here, the company decided to put them in the other two variants, and hence you get a 5.5″ QuadHD display if you go for the Mate 9 Porsche Design or you will get a 5.5″ QuadHD dual curved display with the Mate 9 Pro. With that being said, that is the only difference between the three smartphones. All the other specs and features are same here.
All of them are powered by the Hisilicon Kirin 960 SoC along with Mali G71 GPU. The Huawei Mate 9 comes in three variants i.e. a 4GB variant, where you get an option to choose from 32GB & 64GB of internal storage space. Alternatively, you can also go for the 6GB variant which will come with 128GB of built-in storage. Mate 9 Porsche Design on the other hand only comes in 6GB variant where you will get 256GB of internal storage out of the box. Now talking about the Mate 9 Pro, you have the option to choose from 4GB or 6GB variant which will give either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage respectively.
All the three variants of the Mate 9 smartphones comes with a Leica branded dual rear camera setup. Out of the two, one of them is a 20MP Monochrome sensor, and another one is a 12MP RGB sensor which is same as what we saw with the P9 smartphone from the company, with a difference in the megapixel count. They have an aperture size of f/2.2 along with OIS. On the front as well all of them have an 8MP sensor with a f/1.9 aperture. Other specs which are worth noting are, all of them are kept powered by a 4,000 mAh battery.
