Huawei G9 Lite & Mediapad M2 7.0 Officially Launched in China

Huawei has officially unveiled the G9 Lite smartphone and Mediapad M2 7.0 tablet in China. After launching the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus, the P9 Lite with less powerful specifications is listed in some countries. Now the company has launched the same P9 Lite as G9 Lite with the same specifications in China. While the 7-inch Mediapad M2 will be the third tablet in the series after launching the 10-inch and 8-inch variants.

It sports a 5.2-inch in-cell display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the same Kirin 650 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, which was earlier used in Honor 5C. The device includes 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. On the rear, we can find the fingerprint sensor that is said to unlock in just 0.5 seconds.

Update: The China Unicom variant of Huawei G9 Lite comes with Kirin 650 processor while the variant support other networks is powered by Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor.

Talking about the camera, it sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera with an aperture of f/2.0. It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery that can last upto a single day of mixed usage. The G9 Lite runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1 out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.

Earlier this year, Huawei had launched the Mediapad M2 with a 10.1-inch display. Now, the came up with a smaller Mediapad 7.0 with a 7-inch display. The Mediapad M2 7.0 is the first tablet from Huawei to sport a fingerprint sensor. It can be found on the right edge of the tablet along with volume rocker and power button. The tablet runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based EMUI.

It sports a 7-inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution with Huawei’s ClariVu 2.0 color enhancement technology. It is powered by the Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB RAM. It has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. On the front, the device sports a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.

The Mediapad M2  comes in 16GB and 32GB variants and includes a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 128GB. The 7-inch variant is backed by a 4,360mAh battery while the 10.1-inch variants include a 6,660mAh battery. The Mediapad M2 7.0 supports dual SIM dual standby and on the other hand; the M2 10.0 comes in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE variants.

Coming to the pricing, the Huawei G9 Lite powered by Kirin 650 is priced at 1599 Yuan and Snapdragon 617 powered variant is priced at 1699 Yuan. The Mediapad M2 7.0 is priced at 1599 Yuan for 16GB storage variant and 1799 Yuan for 32GB storage variant. The Wi-Fi only Mediapad M2 10.1 costs 1499 Yuan and while the LTE variant with 16GB and 32GB storages are priced at 1899 Yuan and 2099 Yuan respectively.

The 7-inch tablet comes in White, Blue, Gold, and Pink colors, while the 10.1-inch tablet is limited to just White and black colors. The Huawei G9 Lite is available for registration until May 12th, and the sales start on May 13th via all major Chinese online stores.
