1. Problem With Push Notifications

Problem – Almost all the users reported the issue with push notifications in the Ascend P7 device. The issue is, users are unable to get the notifications of messages and email, and sometimes other notifications were not seen.

Solution – This issue was seen mostly in the devices which are updated to the firmware releases. So, we worked on this issue and fixed the same after performing a factory reset. So, you need to perform the same to resolve this issue.

Factory reset will erase everything on your phone, and so you need to take a back up of the data before proceeding further. Once done, turn off the phone and get it into recovery mode. For that, hold volume up and power button at the same time until you see Android system recovery menu. Now, select and confirm ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘Yes—delete all user data’ using volume and power buttons. Once done go for ‘Reboot system Now’.

Another way to perform the factory reset is by opening ‘Settings>Backup & Reset>Factory data reset>Reset phone’ and follow on-screen instructions. Once done, the push notifications issue has to be resolved. Also, make sure to check the ‘Protected Apps’, ‘Notification Manager’ and ‘Startup Manager’ options under settings.

2. Lag in the Performance

Problem – Many users reported that about the lag in the performance of the device after few months of usage. This seems to be the most common issue in all the Android devices, and so users need to perform few workouts to solve the issue.

Solution – The first thing you can try to fix the lag issue enables the developer options. To do so, go to ‘Settings>About phone’ and tap few times on ‘Build Number’ until it enables the developer options. Once enabled, you can see them under your device settings. Open those options and scroll down to find the animation settings.

Now, open the animation scales and turn off the animations or reduce them to 0.5X. By doing so, you can see the instant change in the performance of the device. Also, you can revert to old settings at anytime by reversing the process.

Additionally, clear the cache stored in apps, by opening each app from the app manager and tapping on ‘Clear Cache’ button. By now, the lag issue should be disappeared and if not perform wipe cache partition. This can be done by getting your phone into recovery mode as explained in the above solution. In here, you need to select and confirm ‘Wipe cache partition’ and after that go for ‘Reboot System Now’.

Even now, the issue isn’t resolved, then perform the factory reset by opening ‘Settings>Backup & Reset>Factory data reset>Reset phone’. This will erase the entire data from the phone, and so take a back-up of the data.
