Honor to launch the Honor 8 Smartphone in India on October 12th

Honor, a sub-brand of Huawei is all set to launch its next smartphone in India this month. This is the Honor 8 smartphone which the company in China a couple of months back. The launch is date is set for October 12th. This is yet another interesting product from the company as it will offer a good mid-range smartphone with gorgeous looks. More than the specs of the device, the looks are appealing. It sports a gorgeous glass back which gives a unique reflection of light falling on it.

Now when you talk about the specs of this smartphone, you are looking at a HiSilicon’s 16nm octa-core Kirin 950 SoC, with four Cortex A72 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and another four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. It also comes with Mali T880-MP4 GPU for graphics processing. The device also packs 4GB of RAM and a 64GB of internal storage. In terms of the camera, we are looking at an 8-megapixel front facing selfie shooter which is good for 1080p video recording. And at the back, we 12-megapixel dual rear cameras, just like the Huawei P9 launched in the month of August in India.

Other specs remain the same as that of the international variant. The company is launching the smartphone on October 12th is expected to go on sale soon after that. We don’t have any info on the pricing of the device but it is expected to retail for about 25,000 INR to 30,000 INR. Earlier :Honor unveiled its latest dual rear camera smartphone Honor 8 in China. It is the third device next to Honor 6 Plus and Honor V8 to feature dual rear cameras. It comes with a metallic frame and a 2.5D glass laid on either side of the device. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the latest EMUI 4.1 overlaid. With the included NFC, the Honor also supports Huawei Pay virtual payments.

It sports a 2.5D 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LTPS display with a pixel density of 423 ppi. Under the hood is the 2.3GHz Kirin 950 octa-core processor built on 16nm architecture. It comes with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage options. The storage can be further expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot. It also sports the IR blaster that can be used to control the home appliances just like the remote controller.

Coming to the camera department, it features dual 12MP sensor with 6P lens and f/2.2 aperture on the rear, same as on the Huawei P9 & P9 Plus. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.4. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and supports 4th-gen power saving technology. With the provided 9V2A power adapter, it also supports fast charging. It measures 145.5 x 71.0 x 7.45 mm and weighs 153 grams.

The round shaped fingerprint sensor can be found on the rear of the device. The same fingerprint sensor can be used as a shutter button on camera app and can be used to access notification panel. Connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, NFC, and USB 2.0 Type-C port. It supports dual SIM dual standby with the hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for MicroSD card instead of second SIM.

The 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage is priced at 1999 Yuan while the device with 4GB RAM costs 2299 Yuan for 32GB storage and 2499 Yuan for 2499 Yuan. It will be available in Charm Navy, Streamer Gold, Pearl White, Phantom Black, and Cherry Pink color options. The registrations for the sale of Honor 8 starts from today while the actual sales start from July 19th.
