The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Elephone has officially launched it’s latest smartphone P9000 Edge which was in rumors for quite a few months now. Back in January, the company announced their P9000 series of smartphones which included the P9000, P9000 Lite and the P9000 Edge. The P9000 and the P9000 Lite have been available to purchase for some time now. However, the company didn’t launch the P9000 Edge variant that time.

Now Elephone has finally made the P9000 Edge variant official and has revealed few of the specifications as well. The Elephone P9000 Edge comes with a large 5.7-inch JDI display with QuadHD resolution coming in at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. According to the images, it is an Edge display as found on the recently launched Galaxy S7 Edge, with no side bezels and curved glass. The Elephone P9000 Edge has a metal body construction under which is there is a MediaTek Helio X25 processor. It will come in 2 variants with 4GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage or 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage option.

At the back of the device, there is a dual sensor setup for the camera. But the camera specifications are unknown at this point but rumored to be of 21-megapixels. The company did not give any official confirmation on the same. Coming on to the other Hardware details, there is a slider to the left side of the device, like the one found on the OnePlus 3 to toggle between the different audio profiles and a fingerprint scanner on the right side of the device. Looking at the images, the device appears to resemble the newly launched OnePlus 3 in terms of design, with its antenna band on the top.

There is no official wording from the company on the price of the more powerful 6GB variant; however, the 4GB variant with 32GB storage option is priced at $250. The Elephone P9000, which was previously launched by the company, is powered by an octa-core Helio X10 processor with 4GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch display and the P9000 Lite, which is a toned down version of the P9000 without the NFC and fingerprint scanner. Stay tuned for more details on these smartphones.

right. and i like the jump from 4 to 6….. so for some years we can be safe on bad optimized apps…. free ram will never be a problem. i feel ok with 2gb or 3gb today…… having 6gb is SUPERRRRR

Yep… Actually 6 gb ram is not needed for fone these days…. Companies use them as a marketing gimmick and now rumors say that a new LeEco fone is said to hv 8gb ram!!!!…. That is very very futuristic and definitely not needed now
