Most smartwatch manufacturers promise their consumers that they will get a featured rich smartwatch while that’s not the case with most of the time. But this manufacturer has read the mind of wearable enthusiasts and has announced a smartwatch that has it all.
The Burg 27, is a smartwatch that can even function as a standalone phone, making it one of the first smartwatch to feature this functionality that are being powered by an Android OS, specifically the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. This smartwatch is the creation of world-renowned Dutch lifestyle designer, Hermen van der Burg, the CEO of Burg wearables.
Company touts this smartwatch as a Stainless steel smartwatch that will suit your lifestyle, as it is an all steel design. The device sport a 1.22-inch scratch and splash resistant display with 208 x 240 pixel resolution. It is powered by a Mediatek chipset and has a slot for 3G SIM card as well as connectivity features like WI-Fi and GPS. It comes with a Bluetooth 4.4 technology ensuring the faster sync between smartwatch and smartphone.
Burg 27 packs a set of health features like, tracks steps taken, calorie burned, sleep, as well as can help you schedule the workouts. It comes with an incredible 8GB of internal storage that hasn’t been seen on any smartwatch yet. And with support of the expansion for up to 16GB via microSD card, you will have enough storage on your smartwatch. Although that’s not it, the device also sports a 2MP camera, which should give a decent photo quality.
With the device being voice activated just like the Android Wear powered smartwatches by the likes of LG, Samsung, and Motorola. It is likely to do all the functions that the dedicated wearables OS does. Though, company didn; t mentioned the exact battery rating, but they tout that the battery life on Burg 27 is 30% longer than the usual smartwatch scenario.
Company said to launch their Burg 27 smartwatch at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) next year on January first week. The pricing will be announced during that course only, which would be an interesting aspect if company priced it right, as the watch is already featured rich.
