After launching the Blackberry Priv smartphone, the company didn’t really launch any new smartphones until we saw the DTEK50 earlier this year. The smartphone was launched in the U.S and was readily available for everyone to purchase. Soon after that the company also launched the DTEK60 smartphone which is a successor the DTEK50. Both of them are not actually manufactured by the company in-house, though. The DTEK50 is just a rebranded Alcatel Idol 4s whereas the DTEK60 is same as that of TCL 950. Well, the company has finally decided to launch both the smartphones here in India today.

Talking about the devices, the DETEK50 comes with a tagline of being the world’s most secure smartphone as it comes with some special encryption features. In terms of specs, we are looking at a 5.2″ FHD display on the front with a 24-bit color depth. The display has a PPI of 424. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with Adreno 405 GPU. It packs 3GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage as well. It is the company’s thinnest phone ever with a thickness of 7.4mm. Yes, there are other thinner devices in the market, but this is what you get here with Blackberry.

Coming to the camera, it sports a 13MP auto-focus rear camera with PDAF and Fast focus lock. It also has an 8MP front-facing selfie shooter with flash. The phone is backed by a 2,610 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 2.0 technology. The DTEK60, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 820 processor. It packs 4GB of RAM and has 32GB of internal memory (expandable up to 256GB). Talking about the camera, it has much better optics with a 21MP rear PDAF camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the front there is an 8MP camera as well.

It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 technology and both the devices run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Both the devices come pre-installed with some apps like the BlackBerry Hub, DTEK, Password Keeper, BBM and BlackBerry Calendar. Looking at the specs, clearly, the DTEK60 is more powerful and ahs flagship specs. And as it is mentioned earlier, both of them come with security app preinstalled. This is what makes them secure by monitoring the device constantly. Now that we are talking about these devices, it is also worth noting that the Blackberry DTEK70 also has ben spotted now. As far as the pricing goes, the DTEK50 is priced at 21,990 INR while the DTEK60 is priced at 46,990 INR. Both the devices will be available to purchase by early December. Stay tuned for more info.

Both are over priced, People will better go for Moto g4 plus and One Plus 3 because DTEK50 is comparable to g4 plus 3GB variant and DTEK60 has SD820 and currently One plus 3 is the best phone available in 30K range. These prices aren’t justified for what they are offering.
