Blackberry DTEK60 smartphone with Snapdragon 820 SoC & Fingerprint Scanner leaked

Blackberry just recently launched a new smartphone called the DTek50 and claimed that the device is the world’s most secure Android device. Well, rather than calling it as a new smartphone, you can term it as a rebranded Alcatel Idol 4 itself. Anyway, it was a decent device, but we can confirm it as the deadly Quadrooter flaw affected the device after all.

But now it looks like the company will be launching a successor this smartphone. Yes, we have some new reports claiming that the company is working on DTEK60 smartphone. Also, interestingly, it is reported that this will come with a fingerprint scanner as well. Well, now it looks like Blackberry is finally stepping up its game with this one. Do make a note that this will be the company’s first smartphone to come with a fingerprint scanner. And as the previous one was termed as ‘rebranded’ Alcatel Idol 4 by many, now there are speculations that this one will be a revised version of the unannounced TCL 950.

As far as the specs go, we are looking at a 5.5-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. It is expected that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset with a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU. It will also pack 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. As far as the camera is concerned, it will feature a 21-megapixel rear facing shooter and an 8-megapixel front facing selfie shooter. The device will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and it will come with Quick-charge 3.0 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed.

Also, this device will not have any physical QWERTY keyboard, unlike other Blackberry smartphones in the past. So if you in the market for one of those, then you will be disappointed here. This smartphone will have a touch screen on the front. As far as the specs go, this looks to be a good device, but we just have to wait and see how the device fairs against the others in the market. Stay tuned for more info on this.
