Last month we saw quite a few flagships unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, now with most of the manufacturers launched their devices. Below is the list of devices that will most probably unveil in the month of March. While we won’t actually see an iPhone launch in March, this year Apple is rumored to bring a new device which will not be the successor for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
The 4-inch iPhone is finally going to be unveiled later this month along with a 9.7-inch iPad Pro. Earlier there was confusion whether it will be called as iPhone 5SE or iPhone SE, but with the recent leaks showing the package, box confirms it to ba called as iPhone 5SE. It comes with iPhone 6 like design and smaller iPhone 5S form factor. The 3D Touch feature will be missed on this latest iPhone. The Power Button is expected to be placed on the top of the device, but the device cases show it on the side.
The device said to include NFC and fingerprint sensor, which makes the ‘Apple Pay’ enabled on this device. Under the hood, it comes with the same A9 processor as on last year’s iPhones. Talking about the camera, there will be a 12MP rear camera. It will be available in the colors – Silver, Space Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold; same as latest iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The iPhone 5SE is expected to be priced cheaper than the iPhone 6. The iPhone 5SE and smaller iPad Pro are expected to launch on March 21 which is three weeks away.
HTC has been teasing the launch of its upcoming smartphone HTC One M10 (HTC 10) with #Powerof10. While there is no certain date mentioned for the launch of the device, we now have most of the information regarding it. It features a 5.2-inch 2K display, and we expect it to be AMOLED display rather than the LCD displays what HTC uses. Under the hood will be the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor along with 4GB of RAM. It will be available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants.
The device sports a laser focus rear camera with dual tone LED flash. It has a physical home button integrated with a fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery. The One M10 will also be water and dust proof, all thanks to the IP68 certification. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with the Sense 8.0 UI overlaid. Recently Evan Blass has tweeted hinting the device to be called as HTC 10 while we aren’t sure about this.
The OPPO R9 and R9 Plus are recently certified by TENAA leaking most of the information. Both the devices come with a similar design in different form factors and sports all metal body. The OPPO R9 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display while R9 Plus comes with a slightly larger 6-inch display. Under the hood, the R9 is powered by a 1.95GHz octa-core processor and the R9 Plus comes with a 1.8GHz octa-core processor. There is 4GB of RAM and 32GB and 64GB of storage on R9 and R9 Plus respectively.
An oval shaped physical home button can be found on the front of both the smartphones. In the camera department, it has a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The OPPO R9 is backed by a 2,850mAh battery while the R9 Plus comes with a 4,120mAh battery. With a larger battery, the OPPO R9 Plus measures 0.9mm thicker than the OPPO R9, which measures just 6.5 mm thickness. The device will be officially launched at an event scheduled on March 17th in China.
Huawei has posted an image confirming the launch of a new device on March 9 in Berlin, which we expect to be the Huawei P9. There were rumors about the dual rear camera setup on this device from almost last 4-5 months and the recently leaked hands-on images of one of the variant confirms it along with dual tone LED flash and Laser Autofocus. A total of four variants of Huawei P9 are expected to launch which include an enhanced variant along with Lite and Max variants.
While the enhanced Huawei P9 comes powered by the Kirin 955 SoC, the normal variant will sport he Kirin 950 octa-core processor. The devices are expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. Like the recent Huawei Nexus 6P, the P9 also comes with a USB Type-C port and includes a fingerprint on the rear. While the latest reports suggest the Huawei P9 not to be launched at March 9th event due to some technical error of the dual camera setup.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) was unveiled in December last year in China, but it is still not made available in most of the countries. Along with the Galaxy A9 (2016), there are also rumors about the launch of the Galaxy A9 Pro. From the last couple of months, we have seen the device get listed on Antutu and GFX Bench revealing most of the configurations. The device sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor. Earlier leaks suggest the processor to be Snapdragon650 octa-core processor.
There is 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. It has a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The battery details aren’t mentioned in the listing, and for your information, the Galaxy A9 (2016) came with a 4,000mAh battery. It will be compatible with the Samsung Pay option as seen with other 2016 Galaxy A devices. The A9 Pro measures 161.7 x 80.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 210 grams.
