In the month of February, we have seen very few smartphone launches in India. Out of them, there are also a couple of Flipkart exclusive devices. We have selected the best selling and also the newly launched devices that offer the best value for money. All the below-mentioned devices support 4G LTE. Flipkart is also offering few smartphones under discounted price for a limited time. Apart from the iPhone 6, all the other smartphones run on Android OS, and there are also a couple of devices that come with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
- OPPO F1s – Rs. 18,990
The fastest growing smartphone brand, OPPO launched the OPPO F1s Limited Edition exclusively on Flipkart. The device is priced at Rs. 18,990 and comes in Gold, Grey, and Rose Gold color options. Flipkart is offering additional Rs. 1,000 off on exchange value of the F1s smartphone. At this price, the device sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. It comes with an all-metal body and supports dual SIM dual standby with the hybrid SIM slot. The device includes MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. On the front is a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture that can capture good selfies.
- Lenovo Vibe K5 Note – Rs. 12,499
Recently, Lenovo launched the upgraded variant of the Vibe K5 Note with 4GB of RAM. Apart from increasing the RAM from 3GB to 4GB RAM, rest of the specifications remain same as on the last year’s variant. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Vibe UI laid on top. The Vibe K5 Note also features a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and 3,500mAh battery. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE for using with Jio 4G SIM. Other connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
- Panasonic Eluga Tapp – Rs. 6,599
The Eluga Tapp from Panasonic is one of the best selling affordable smartphones on Flipkart. It comes with a polycarbonate shell with curved rear edges that offer nice grip to hold on to the device. Under the 5-inch HD display is the MediaTek MT6737V quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In the camera department, there is an 8MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The physical home button on the front comes with integrated with a fingerprint sensor. It is back by a 2,800mAh battery that can give at least a day long battery life. The Eluga Tapp is available in Champagne Gold and Silver Grey color options.
- Yu Yunicorn – Rs. 10,499
The Yu Yunicorn was launched at Rs. 13,499, but after the recent price cut, the price came down to just Rs. 10,499. At this price, it is one of the good alternatives any other smartphone at the same price range. It comes with a brushed metal finish on the back, and on the front is a 2.5D curved glass. The Yunicorn sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor. There is 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. There are very few devices that come with 4GB RAM at this price. Other specifications include 4G VoLTE, 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a 4000mAh battery.
- Apple iPhone 6 – Rs. 27,990
In case, if you want to shift from Android and iOS without spending a bomb on it, then the iPhone 6 retailing at Rs. 27,990 is one best deal to choose. Though the latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus came with slight changes in design, the form factor looks almost same as the iPhone 6. With the 4.7-inch Retina HD display, the Phone 6 can be handled with a single hand. Though the device comes ith iOS 9 onboard, the user can update it to the latest iOS 10. However, it lacks the 3D Touch display but includes the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. One more reason to choose the iPhone 6 is the presence of 3.5mm Audio port. There are major tradeoffs like iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, at least for the Indian market.
- Swipe Elite 3 – Rs. 5,499
The Swipe Elite 3 is the successor to the popular Swipe Elite 2 smartphone. Just like its predecessor, the Elite 3 also comes with cheap price tag offering decent specifications. It supports 4G VoLTE and can be used with the Jio 4G SIM. The device lacks fingerprint sensor, but that can be justified with its Rs. 5,499 price tag. The Elite 3 comes in Champagne Gold and Space Grey color options. Beneath the 5-inch HD display, we can see the three capacitive navigation buttons. It includes 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, an 8MP rear camera, and also a 5MP selfie camera. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It supports dual SIM with the hybrid slot where the user can expand the storage instead of having the secondary SIM.
- Asus Zenfone 3s Max – Rs. 15,499
The Zenfone Max devices from Asus comes with huge battery capacities. Earlier this month, the company launched the new Zenfone 3s Max as the successor to Zenfone 3 Max. This new device comes with a 5,000mAh battery and measures 8.85 mm thickness. Asus claims the Zenfone 3s Max to give three days of battery life with regular usage. The Zenfone 3s Max is also first Asus smartphone in India to come with Android 7.0 nougat out of the box. It sports a 5.2-inch HD display along with a 2.5D glass laid on top. The device is powered by MediaTek MT6750 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The physical home button on the front also comes with a fingerprint sensor.
- ZTE A2 Plus – Rs. 11,999
With the ZTE A2 Plus smartphone, the company relaunched itself in India. As seen with the other mid-range smartphones from China, the A2 Plus also comes with a complete metal body. On the front is a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display. Under the hood, it includes MediaTek MT6750 SoC that we have seen earlier on the Zenfone 3s Max. The device also packs 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. It sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP front camera for selfies. The A2 Plus supports dual SIM dual standby and offers basic connectivity options including 4G VoLTE. Just below the protruding rear camera, we can see the fingerprint sensor.
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 – from Rs. 9,999
Unlike the other devices, the Redmi Note 4 is only sold via flash sales on Flipkart and Mi.com. In total, the device comes in three variants with 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM options. The pricing starts from Rs. 9,999 and all the three variants with the same specifications and build quality except the RAM and storage. The Redmi Note 4 comes with 2.5D 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. As seen on the Redmi Note 3, its successor also comes with a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a 4,100mAh battery. It also comes with IR blaster for controlling any electronics like TV or AC with a smartphone instead of the remote controller.
- Xolo Era 2X – from Rs. 6,666
The Xolo Era 2X is not a new device, and we have been recommending this for the first smartphone user, who are looking for a decent smartphone with a low price tag. It comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants priced at Rs. 6,666 and Rs. 7,499 respectively. Rest of the specifications remain same on both the variants. The Era 2X comes also sports a circular fingerprint sensor placed on the rear. Both the devices come with 16GB of expandable storage. In the camera department, there is an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The device comes runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and includes a few bloatware apps. It supports dual SIM dual standby along with 4G VoLTE connectivity for using Jio 4G SIM.
