Asus had already launched the Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Max, Zenfone 3 Deluxe, and Zenfone 3 Ultra smartphones under the new Zenfone 3 series. Recently, the Zenfone 3 Zoom with the model number ZE553KL got the Bluetooth certification and today, the same device is spotted on TENAA. It will be the first smartphone from Asus to feature dual camera setup. The Zenfone 3 Zoom will be the successor to last year’s Zenfone Zoom that came with a 3X optical zoom smartphone. Now, the company gave up the optical zoom but we can expect some good camera features with the dual cameras on the Zenfone 3 Zoom.
Just like other devices in the Zenfone 3 series, the upcoming Zenfone 3 Zoom also comes with an all metal body with rounded edges. It sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 2.5D glass laid on top. Under the hood, the device is expected to feature the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It will be available in 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM variants with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of internal storage respectively. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage.
Talking about the cameras, the TENAA listing mentioned the device to come with 16MP dual rear cameras, while the Bluetooth certification site listed the Zenfone 3 Zoom with 12.2MP and 13MP cameras on the back. The rear cameras area assisted by dual tone LED flash and laser autofocus. While on the front is a 13MP sensor for capturing selfies and video calls. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh non-removable battery that can easily last more than a day of usage. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE compatibility.
Even with such a large battery, the device measures just 7.99mm thickness and weighs 170 grams. The listing mentioned the device to be available in Black, Silver, and Gold color options. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the customized Zen UI laid on top. On the back of the device, we can also find the circular fingerprint sensor along with protruding dual cameras. Basic connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The SIM card slot is placed on the left edge of the device while the power button and volume rocker can be found on the right edge.
Just yesterday, the company announced to launch a new product at the upcoming CES 2017 in partnership with Qualcomm. While rumors hinted at the launch of world’s first Snapdragon 835 powered smartphone, with these recent leaks, we are now expecting the Zenfone 3 Zoom launch.
