Apple will charge you $69 for each Airpod if you end up losing it

Apple announced its wireless Bluetooth earphones called the Airpods at the time of iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus launch. This is the company’s first attempt at making wireless earphones. In fact, they went all in with this one. To start off with, most people are at least glad that the company finally managed to launch them officially after about 2-3 months from the initial announcement. Well, if you are in the market for one of them, then you are still out of luck since your unit won’t be delivered to you until early next year. If you are fine with all the delays and everything, then these are totally worth checking out. The Apple Airpods packs a lot of different features up its sleeves.

One of the obvious features of the Apple Airpods is that it is completely wireless. There are no wires whatsoever, and all you get is two different piece of earbud for each ear. While this is really great to have but it has its own complications. The very obvious issue which most people are going to face is the risk of losing them. If in case you end up losing both of them, well then the only option to buy a new pair. But however, on the contrary, if you end up losing only one of them, it turns out it will cost you $69 for each airpod. According to Apple’s support page, the warranty on the Airpods will cover the damaged unit for upto one year. However, if you end up losing one of, which is highly possible with its type of design, Apple will sell a replacement unit for $69.

While this might sound like a lot of money for a single piece of earbud for one ear, but then it makes sense as well considering the fact that a pair will cost you $160. Do make a note that the repairs outside of the warranty period will also cost $69. Also, the battery problems are covered for a year post which it will cost you $49 t fix them. That applies to the battery within the carrying case as well. And yes, speaking of the carrying case, if you end up losing that also, then again you should be ready to shed $69. So all this might have made it clear to you that this product is not only expensive, it is also quite expensive to get it fixed. And if you don’t want to spend so much money on the repairs, then you better don’t lose them or don’t buy the AirPods in the first place.
