Amazon was all said to introduce a new much affordable version of their popular Smart Bluetooth Speakers with Alexa voice service. The rumour has been going on about it since quite a time now. While many believed it would be announced soon, some thought it might not come at all. But fortunately for optimists, Amazon accidentally revealed the official details about their new Echo Dot on their Twitter account.
The Tweet announcement stated, “Introducing the all-new Echo Dot. Add Alexa to any room – now for just $49.99.” The original Dot was launched at $89.99 earlier this year in March. There was an active link shared in the tweet itself, which will take you to the Echo Dot page. Unfortunately, it simply says that product is Sold Out on Amazon page.
The URL linked in a tweet doesn’t reveal the details about new Echo Dot. Moreover, it has been deleted by the company. So, this whole thing seems to be one giant mistake by an Amazon employee (probably ex-employee now). Though, there are some users who caught the tweet and had shared the link and details for us to see.
Our guess is that a new Echo Dot is coming at suggested price point of $49.99. Which it isn’t known whether the product would have additional features or would rather lack some when compared to the original dot. Now Amazon shouldn’t wait much longer to make it completely official about their new Echo Dot.
For those who doesn’t have the slightest idea about this product, let us give a brief description of it. Amazon has a set of Alexa powered Bluetooth speakers, which company introduced in a march along with Amazon Tap. The second product was Echo Dot, which converts your standard speakers into a smart one via Bluetooth.
The original Echo Dot looks like a hockey puck; Amazon hoped that it would draw customers as it’s ability to turn traditional Bluetooth speakers into a smart one is quite fascinating. With a good customer response from all the Echo customers, it is being touted that new Echo Dot would be another great product in the line of Alexa powered devices.
