Alcatel announced the launch of its next smartphone in India, called the Pixi 4. The company is selling them exclusively via Flipkart from 20th September. The new Pixi 4 is the successor to the previously launched Pixi 3, which was an entry level smartphone that offered basic entry level specs at an affordable price. And on the lines, the new Pixi 4 is no exception here.
When you talk about the specs of the new Pixi 4, it is powered by a MediaTek MTK6735M quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.0 Ghz. It comes with only 1GB of RAM and has an 8GB of internal storage out of the box. This can also be expanded upto 32GB via a microSD card. It has a 5‘’ FWVGA display on the front with a resolution of 854×480pixels. In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 5-megapixel rear facing shooter and a very average 2-megapixel front facing selfie shooter.
The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and is kept powered by a 2,000 mAh battery. Other connectivity options in this Dual-SIM smartphone includes Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Micro USB 2.0, etc. And other features of the smartphone includes Google Translate app, 1-finger zoom, Flip to mute, Mini apps, Pre-embedded apps, QR code scanner, Polaroid camera, Power saving mode, Arkamys optimized speakers, HD voice, Dual-mic Noise cancellation, VoLTE.
When you compare the new Pixi 4 with its predecessor, the only thing to note here si the fact that it is not much of an upgrade over the previous one. And do make a note that the company has launched other smartphones as well in this category, so be sure to pick the right one for you. They are also offering these devices in different form factors. Well, when you talk about the pricing, the new Pixi 4 is priced at 4,999 INR and as mentioned earlier, it will be sold exclusively via Flipkart and will be available in a variety of different color options.
